Trying something new today… finally attempting to make homemade ice cream again in my fancy ice cream maker that my Mother-in-Law bought me. OK, technically it’s the 2nd batch… but the first (mint chocolate chip) didn’t turn out very good.

I asked Jeremy what flavor he wanted and he mentioned cherry… so I found this Cherry-Chocolate ice cream recipe and decided to try it… It’s the Batch Family Mountain Cherry Choconut Ice Cream recipe that’s listed… minus the almonds cause I wanted to make it baby-friendly. It’s mixing in the ice cream maker now… fingers crossed.

OK, I’m back with a little teaser… (hehe)… yeah, I’m mean like that…

That, my friend, is some really yummy ice cream!
I should have paid a little more attention to how far up I was filling the freezer container on the ice cream maker, because I think I put a little too much in… it expands as it freezes (of course) and so it kind of expanded out of the container and made a big mess in the kitchen. But then again… I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make a mess of some sort when cooking/making something.

Anyway, after about 30 minutes of freezing the ice cream it was looking pretty good – about soft serve consistency – and that’s when you are supposed to take it out. You can either eat it just like that or you can transfer it to an air tight container and freeze it to a harder consistency. Well, this batch is for tonight so it’s going to be a bit harder… and that’s a good thing.

Of course, I did have to try a bite… and I must say that it’s pretty awesome!! There’s not really as much chocolate in it as I’d like usually, but the cherries are perfect and it is just right for tonight!! I might try to compensate for the not so much chocolate in it by shaving a few extra pieces on top!! I’ll get a better photo tonight when it’s all dished out to make you drool even more!!

I’m horrible… I NEVER have time to get anything posted here anymore. It sucks. Maybe one day soon I’ll actually get to update again. I’ve got tons of photos that need to go on here, stories, etc. We’ll see what happens. Forgive me for now…

So I’d like to set up my Twitter feed on here. I think it’d make things more interesting. Now I just must remember to set it up when I have some time at home on the computer.

Why must there be so many cute options for little girls Easter dresses?? I started out thinking that we’d just do something simple and more casual. Sarah was going to wear a cute green with white polka dots dress that Nora never wore last year, and I was going to get this cute white cotton dress from Old Navy and find a green sweater for Nora.

Bought the dress and everything… was set to go.
Then we were out Saturday trying to kill some time while Jeremy’s truck was at the shop for service and just enjoying the beautiful day… and went to Target. Jeremy found this dress

and wanted to get it… super cute and a little more dressy than the first option, but still nice and do-able. So we bought it and just figured we’d find something a bit dressier for Sarah.
Of course, then we really got ourselves in trouble when we went to Bridge Street… and walked by the window at Gymboree. That place is just horrible on the wallet… but the stuff is just too cute and it’s so hard to resist.
This dress drew me into the store…

So… we considered it and bought them both.
Of course, I couldn’t go and JUST get Easter dresses… Nora and I walked through the store and found these too…

I spent way too much money in Gymboree on just 4 outfits… but I walked out with $100 of Gymbucks… so, they’ve got me again… We’ll go back in April and buy some more stuff.
My girls are going to be the best dressed kids around this spring/summer… haha

As you probably guessed from the begining of this whole Project 52 thing… I won’t be able to keep up with it. It was a bit easier to do while I was at home but now that I’m back to work it’s making things lots harder to actually get a photo taken each week… especially a self portrait.
So… I’m going to continue to attempt and take a new picture every so often but I’m making no promises about how often.

So yeah, I’m back at work now… I came back on 2/1 and then promptly caught whatever stomach bug that had been passed around the office while I was gone. So… with no sick time to use, I had to stay home and get better. Thought I had saved the rest of the house too until Jeremy and Nora both got sick Sunday afternoon. Everyone seems better now and I’m hoping that it stays that way!!

Oh yeah… and it’s my birthday today… I’ve so far gotten a promise from Mom that she will paint my bathroom and bedroom for me (yeah!!) and a gift certificate to a local day spa from the group at work. So far, a pretty good day.
